Thank You Media!

Poor Media. It just wants to free Princess Palin!

So the Media is just nipping at the heels of Palin, but they just aren’t given enough time to really let her shine. Whenever Palin really lets her thoughts out, it’s McCain (McBowser?) out there to save the day. So is McCain protecting Palin from the media, or is it the other way around?

What They Say 2

Another page of Ray’s neat look into the ones who will be doing the electing - you, the voter! He says he’s culled all the quotes from various sources online and in the media. Whatever the source, America’s got a lot of voices out there determined to be heard. Hopefully, we’ll hear more on these topics from Ray in the future!

In the Handbasket

Where will the tides take us if we become stuck in such a handbasket? We can only hope we won’t have to face that kind of future… See more on Palin’s foreign policy experience in the CBS Katie Couric interview.

What They Say

An interesting look at the other side of the election: you, the voter! According to Ray, some of these are inspired by real quotes, and some are just humor. There’s such a variety of people out there voting for different people for all kinds of reasons. Look for a next installment of “What They Say” to be posted soon!

Sarah vs. the press... again

So Electric Panda brings up a good point. Has the media been too savage to Sarah Palin? From Aidan: “No-one much seems to like Palin. It’s not too hard to see why.” One can’t help but feel sorry for her when she fumbles at every turn in the recent Katie Couric interview. But even though the press is hounding her, quite literally, have we gotten to see enough of the real Sarah Palin? How many of her answers actually seem like her own words? What does she actually think about the issues, instead of what she’s been told to memorize about the issues? And if she’s not tough enough to take a few reporters here and there, will she be tough enough to stand on her own as a potential president of the United States?

Gumming up the works

I can’t believe that McCain thinks his and Obama’s presence in these delicate talks about saving our economy is going to be of any real use. He claims to be working outside of politics to be the bigger man and do his part, but what exactly is the use of a camel in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?

Maybe Palin is having an influence on his perspective. Hell, if you can see Russia from your backyard, of course you understand the complications of intricate economic negotiations between financial experts.

Oh Sarah, you and the press just do not mix.

So Palin Meet with some people at the UN on Tuesday, and answered virtually one question from a reporter, about how her day was going. And just when we were going to find out more about our maybe-soon-to-be-presidential candidates, McCain pulls this so he can take time to single-handedly save the economy.

Couldn’t you have done that last week or the week before? Those times when the economy REALLY took a hit? Or could it be that you had some kind of ulterior motives?

My Living Hell

My Living Hell

Another beautiful page by Ray. From the artist himself:
“In reaction to “Didja hear Sarah Palin glasses are hot right now?” Alaskan people live in darkness for periods at a time, which limits SEEING each other, and other States. There is also a high-level of alcohol abuse and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome because THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO aside from making babies and surviving on Walmart. OK, I an being a bit harsh, but…we DO NOT take fashion cues from these people!”

Jeopardizing the Candidacy

Written by Auilix on September 24, 2008 in: Comics | Tags: , , ,

Anything that might jeopardize her candidacy? I doubt it!

From whutnot again, here is a look at a few of the problems regarding Sarah Palin. From whutnot herself:

“What scares me about the McCain/Palin ticket is the lack of thorough investigation. It seems like McCain just chose Palin because she is a woman, and he didn’t really check into her background.
If it turns out that his camp actually did a proper vetting, then I have to question his judgment. Who would chose a governor of a sparsely populated State, that has no foreign policy experience, and is already under investigation for abuse of power? I really makes me wonder if McCain knows what he is doing.”

And now it looks like we won’t know much more about Palin (no interviews or even questions from the press!) or McCain (no debate this week!)… At least not until they can devise more ways of hiding up themselves and information regarding themselves.

Another meet the press? Or just let the press look at you?

I’m kind of annoyed at the amount of people who compare Sarah Palin’s jaunt in the U.N. to Obama’s July tour of Europe. She isn’t speaking at the U.N. or taking interviews, whereas Obama’s tour was solely for the purpose of meeting people, talking with them, and listening. Said French President Nicolas Sarkozy of Obama: “Forgive us, but we had sort of forgotten that American politicians could be so perceptive and so well-spoken” (cite).

And, I dunno about you, but it felt nice to be liked by another country, for once.

Citations: Panel 1 & 3 - Palin goes to the U.N., Palin does not get interviewed; Panel 2 - Obama tours Europe.
